Volunteer with CMREA

Study after study will tell you the way to a successful retirement is to stay busy.  How to stay busy you ask?  Do I have a project for you!

Cobb Marietta Retired Educators Association is an organization that runs like a well-oiled machine.  There are many people who make that happen.  Meetings happen with lunches and speakers.  “Dollars for Scholars” books come and go.  Bills get paid.  Scholarships get awarded.  The website gets updated.  This list of things that go on behind the scenes continues on and on.

But there are people that make it happen.

These people need help.

That’s where you come in.  Can you help?  There are positions that happen solely at meetings (hospitality, “Dollars for Scholars” for example).  There are some that happen “whenever”.  Things like scrapbook, publicity, communications (website, Facebook, etc.) can all be taken care of whenever the individual in charge feels like scheduling it.  Other activities are combinations.  Membership has many components; some of which happen during meetings, others outside of meetings.  Treasurer and secretary have meeting and non-meeting responsibilities.

At the next meeting, look for someone wearing a red carnation.  They are one of the volunteers in Cobb Marietta Retired Educators Association.  They would be delighted to tell you how you can be a volunteer too.
